Aging and disability can bring many challenges to life, one of which is the question “How can I remain living in my own home safely and independently for as long as possible?” Sandhills Adaptive Living is a new company in the area that wants to help people find answers to this question. Owned by two occupational therapists, Sandhills Adaptive Living is a company that specializes in evaluating how well people and their homes fit together and in making recommendations for changes to the home so that those who live there can do so safely and comfortably for as long as possible.

Modifying a home can make it more liveable, safe, and comfortable for any age and ability level, and done proactively, before falls, injuries or health problems arise can possibly prevent some of these things from happening, helping keep the person and their family worry free.

Our process:

1. We visit your home

You contact us to set up an appointment for us to come to your home. This appointment will generally last 1-2 hours and will involve an assessment of your home and how you manage every day activities around your home.

2. We provide you with a written report

We then provide you with a written report that details our findings and makes recommendations for changes so that living in your home becomes safer and easier for you.

3. You decide how to proceed

Because there will be different ways to carry out recommendations, you will choose which changes you wish to make.

As part of our service, we are available for a 30-minute follow-up phone call as needed to check-in and answer questions.
