Christine M. Abbott, MHS, OTR/L, ECHM (Executive Certificate in Home Modification)

Christine M. Abbott, MHS, OTR/L, ECHM (Executive Certificate in Home Modification). Christine is an occupational therapist with over 40 years experience. She obtained her undergraduate degree from St. Loyes School of Occupational Therapy in England, and her master’s degree from the Medical University of South Carolina. In 2017 she obtained an Executive Certificate in Home Modification through the University of Southern California.

During her career, Christine has worked in many different settings, including hospitals, schools and nursing homes, but her primary area of practice for many years has been home health. While working in home health, Christine saw many people who wanted to remain living in their own homes, but noted that the design and features of the homes, although aesthetically pleasing, often presented multiple barriers which compromised the safety and independence of the people who lived there. Starting a company like Sandhills Adaptive Living was a dream for several years until a chance meeting with Michael led to a partnership designed to address the needs of people who want to remain living in their own homes as safely, independently and comfortably as possible.”
